Key Features of the Paris Hot Tub

Freeze Shield technology

A great feature that Lay-Z-Spa has added to their new inflatable hot tub lines, Their patented anti-icing technology, prevents the internal water temperature of your Lay-Z-Spa Paris from ever dropping below 6-10 degrees.

Built-in sensors constantly monitor the hot tub’s internal temperature and automatically kick in to provide added heat if your main heating system and the spa pump is switched off.

Not only does this prevent loss of heat when the hot tub is filled and in use, but it helps to protect the water lines, pipes and pump from being damaged by frozen water, should te temperature plummet, damage which the hot tub’s warranty will not cover.

LED lighting system

The stand out feature of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris inflatable hot tub is the stunning multi-coloured LED lighting system, which isn’t often included in other hot tubs, especially not by those in the same price range.

With wireless remote control, Paris portable hot tub owners can choose to cycle through 7 different colour options, creating the perfect ambience for a romantic evening or for a lively garden party.

You can also choose the auto colour change mode, allowing for an automatic light show that should keep everybody happy and add a little visual appeal to an evening of outdoor entertainment.

Massage system

One of the most essential qualities of an inflatable hot tub is the power and functionality of the massage system. After all, inflatable hot tubs are synonymous with the fun spa experience and the ability to tend to aching muscles.

The Lay-Z-Spa Paris inflatable hot tub certainly doesn’t disappoint here, with 140 air jets surrounding the entire tub to fill it with thousands of rejuvenating bubbles and because they can be used simultaneously with heater there’s no drop in temperature.

The airjet pump provided offers full control over energy usage, with an easy to reach digital control panel for effortless switching between energy-saving and regular usage modes, a great feature to help inflatable hot tub owners manage their energy consumption

Is the Paris Inflatable Hot Tub WI-FI Controlled Hot Tub?

Although the Lay-Z-Spa Paris hot tub pump is not wi-fi controlled, we don’t imagine you’ll pine for the feature, as the touchpad controls for the temperature and bubbles can be easily reached on the pump, which also boasts built-in cup holders.

Lay-Z-Spa does produce a wi-fi-enabled replacement pump that works with their airjet hot tubs if you’re desperate to make use of this feature, but they generally only include wi-fi controls as standard on the more expensive spa models like the Milan.

Does This Spa Have Lighting?

The lighting is one of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris attributes that make it stand out from other inflatable hot tubs and is a great way to get the party started. Not only that, Chromotherapy or colour therapy has been proven to enhance moods with cool colours being good for anxiety and warm colours helpful to those suffering from depression.

You can scroll through each of the seven different coloured lights using the waterproof remote control or select the automatic colour-changing mode

How Many People Can it Accommodate?

The Lay-Z-Spa Paris can comfortably fit 6 adults at a time, but we think it’s better used as a 4-seater to provide a little extra room to relax as like all models it can get a bit close for comfort when filled with the maximum number of adults.

It’s a perfect hot tub for families, for kids to have fun, evenings enjoying the bubbles with friends and it’s a terrific party pool everything you could want from a lay-z-spa jacuzzi.

If you’re thinking of the Lay Z Spa Paris model to be used as your own home hot tub and are looking to accommodate a small family of 4, the dimensions of this spa should work out perfectly and make sure that everybody has room to spread out, have fun and relax.

What About Safety Features?

Safety features rank high on our considerations when approaching any hot tub review, and Lay-Z-Spa are pretty consistent with the protective measures they put in place.

The Lazy Spa Paris hot tub has an insulated and inflatable cover that fits over the lip of the hot tub; this can also be secured by double stitched buckles. In our experience, no amount of wind or pressure from wandering pets is likely to remove or breach the seal.

It’s also fitted with a residual current device (RCD), which will instantly ground the electrical circuit should any water come into contact with the live wiring inside the tub. The weight of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris means it won’t move even under strong winds.

Detailed Hot Tub Review

Comfortableness

The soft floor lining and cushioned sides of this blow-up spa are reasonably comfortable when used for a few hours at a time, but if you’re looking to become a prune over the course of a lazy afternoon, you might want to invest in some additional inflatable seats.

These can be purchased separately for around £10-£20 a pair, with 3 or 4 needed to kit the whole hot tub out. With the addition of a couple of seats, you can spend as long as you like in this tub. If the floor was as comfortable as the walls, this would be an easy 5/5!

Spa Paris Inflatable Running Costs

Lay-Z-Spa is pretty open about the cost of running their hot tub range, stating that the average weekly costs will end up somewhere in the region of £7-£10. The Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris is slightly smaller than some of their other popular models, so we estimate that the long term costs should lie towards the lower end of that scale.

You can, of course, lower the temperature slightly and make use of the energy-saving timer control to keep those costs down, but you should be aware that running a hot tub can be expensive despite keeping an eye on your energy usage.

We recommend that you become acquainted with the maintenance guide as soon as you unbox your hot tub, as prompt maintenance can help you save money on costly repairs and a floor protector will also prevent heat loss.

You’ll also need to replace the filter cartridge regularly and stock up on chlorine tablets to safely run the Lay-Z-Spa Paris Airjet hot tub, the latter of which you’ll need to buy separately, as a few online reviews have pointed out!

How long does the Lay-Z-Spa Paris take to heat up?

One thing that Lay-Z-Spa is constantly improving on is rapid heating. This airjet model boasts a new rapid heating system, which can reliably heat your inflatable spa’s cold water to a blissful temperature of 40 degrees within 24 hours.

Once set up for the first time, the heating system of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris can easily retain 30-40 degree temperatures whilst in use and remain warm when stored correctly with the inflatable lid and cover.

Tip: Using a few buckets of hot water along with the hose pipe when you fill up the Paris spa for the first time will get it to the right temperature quicker!

Noisiness

Setting your Lay-Z-Spa Paris to a low power mode will undoubtedly help reduce any unwanted noise, but there are also a few other things you can do to limit the number of complaints from your neighbours.

  • Invest in an insulating mat to place underneath the hot tub.
  • Regularly clean the pump to ensure that no debris is causing extra noise.
  • Position your hot tub in an enclosed area with bushes or fences to muffle the sound of the bubbles
  • Invest in an additional noise reduction system to fit your hot tub.

Using the Spa Paris Inflatable in Winter

The brilliant freeze prevention technology fitted to the Lay-Z-Spa Paris means that this hot tub is ideally suited to chilly evenings. You just need to make sure that you’re using the system correctly.

Ensure that the Lay Z Spa Paris hot tub is running at a low temperature when not in use, and keep the lid and cover attached to retain that heat; this should prevent any ice forming and allow you to freely use your Paris hot tub throughout the winter, whatever the temperature outside.

Remember to keep the chemical levels topped up (a chemical floater is great for this), and make sure to change the filter cartridge regularly; then, all you need to do is turn the rapid heating function on via the pump and within 48 hours; you’ll be good to go!

Price

Compared to its competitors, we think that the Lay-Z-Spa Paris really stands out. That may be partially down to the enticing allure of its remote control LED lighting, but we do believe that it packs in enough extra qualities alongside the lights to constitute its price point.

The combination of frost protection and rapid heater with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees means the Lay-Z-Spa Paris can be used all year round, and the construction and comfort are exactly what we’d expect from an inflatable hot tub in this range.

You should also be aware that inflatable hot tubs are often discounted at certain times of the year, so it’s worth regularly checking suppliers to find the best prices.

Warranty and support

The Lay-Z-Spa Paris inflatable hot tub hot tub comes with a 12 month warranty on the pump and 6 months for the liner which you can extend simply by registering your purchase on their website. One thing to be aware of is that Lay-Z-Spa will only honour the warranty if the tub was purchased from an authorised seller.

They also have a UK-based customer care support team should you have any queries or issues with your Lay-Z-Spa Paris

Previous Buyer Reviews

Overall the reviews of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris Airjet seem to be pretty positive. We know it comes from a trusted brand, but this model, in particular, seemed to outperform similar-priced tubs.

The Lay-Z-Spa Paris is ideal if you’re looking for a reliable option that doesn’t require much maintenance or preparation time, this hot tub is a fantastic choice. It is easy to set up fully inflated and ready to fill in a matter of minutes.

It’s equally great for families and adults that like to entertain, with the LED lights able to adapt to a romantic evening just as well as a bubbly party.

The innovative technology that prevents freezing means you won’t have to worry about the colder months when the air temperature drops, and the rapid heating means you’re ready to go with very little prep time.

People often ask, are lazy spas any good, well now you can compare them against each other in our comprehensive guide.

How Does Lay Z Spa Paris Compare?

The Ottoman

The Ottoman is cheaper (and a little bigger), but the materials used in its build don't seem quite as high quality in our opinion.

There's also fewer air jets than the Lay-Z-Spa Paris and no LED lights, Although it does have anti-freeze technology,  the MSpa Ottoman hot tub lacks some of the Paris's pazzaz

The Atlantic Plus

The Atlantic Plus is a little cheaper than the Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris, which also has slightly less space, but does manage to match it in the number of massage jets powered by its internal airjet pump.

It has a fairly high build quality and feels durable enough to be used on a regular basis, though it doesn't offer all the features, such as LED lights, rapid heating and frost protection

How to Set Up The Lazy Spa Paris

Like the other models in Lay-Z-Spa‘s inflatable hot tub range, it is incredibly easy to inflate the Lay-Z-Spa Paris. It takes the included pump around 10 minutes to get the job done; then it’s just a case of filling it up, popping in the chemical floater and waiting for the water to heat up. We do get asked quite often, can you put a lazy spa on decking? The answer is yes but a filled hot tub can weigh a lot so we would advise durable decking and a floor mat beneath the tub.

Last Word

So, that’s our Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris review!

As far as we’re concerned, the Paris Lazy Spa is a great inflatable hot tub, with many practical features that help it to remain low maintenance and simple to use.

The Freeze Shield technology and rapid heating function make it ideal for use all year round, and the LED lighting provides a little extra appeal for those looking to impress their guests at garden parties and BBQs.

The Lazy Spa Paris boasts a stylish design and impressive safety features, and whilst it may be a little more expensive than its competitors, we think the extra money is worth it for the ease of use.

We hope you’ve found this review helpful and that you’ve learnt a little about what to look for in a good quality inflatable hot tub!
