MSpa Delight Alpine Review | Ratings & Verdict

This is our review of the MSPA Delight Alpine (updated in 2023)

Are you considering getting a hot tub? There’s been a surge in sales in the last few years, with more sophisticated options coming onto the market every day. Some hit the mark, whilst others should be given a wide berth.

But how do you know which one is right for you? Do you know the difference between HydroJets and AirJets? What if you spend hundreds of pounds on the wrong product?

MSPA Alpine Delight Review

Bursting with hot tub tech, such as anti-icing, auto inflation and arguably the “best water filtration system ever”, This MSPA is one of the quietest, most efficient and best-looking spas around.

Our team have a passion for hot tubs (I know, weird!), but it has helped us during the last ten years of picking through the best and the worst inflatable spas. Today we are focusing on the MSPA Alpine Delight. This square-shaped 4-seater spa has a lot of competition, but we thought it deserved its five minutes in the spotlight, so we dug a little deeper.

Table of Contents

Finished in a sleek black design and fashioned from a 6-layer PVC material, the MSPA Delight Alpine aims to provide long-lasting functionality and a simple operation to hot tubbers that don’t want to break the bank.

A decidedly mid-range inflatable hot tub. We found that the MSPA Delight focuses on the basics of excellent spa design, with a simple-to-use wired controller, 132 powerful air jets and a smart filtration system that makes maintaining the water quality of your spa as easy as relaxing amongst the bubbles.

We were pleased with how simple this spa is to set up, and loved reclining against the soft-touch interior lining, finding that comfort and usability are the main focuses of this tub’s operation.

What We Liked - Key Features

6-layer PVC shell

As an affordable inflatable hot tub, the MSPA is geared towards families and first-time buyers, so you’d better hope that it can stand up to daily use!

Making use of a hard-wearing PVC shell, we found this spa to be incredibly resistant to everyday wear and even against the most common causes of hot tub punctures like stray branches and stones.

Not only is this exterior shell super durable, but it’s also imbued with an antibacterial lining, designed to protect your family against common germs and bacteria, which we think is ideal for a hot tub that’s destined to be used extensively by multiple people!

108 dynamic air jets

The MSPA Delight Alpine isn’t held back by its conservative design, with a surprisingly powerful 108 air jet massage system hiding within its padded floor.

Though these jets don’t feature the variable speed controls found on MSPA’s more expensive models, our team didn’t seem to mind, finding that the single-speed power and spread of the massage system are more than enough to produce thousands of relaxing bubbles.

Wired remote control

The MSPA Delight Alpine’s massage system is surprisingly powerful, but we were also pleased to find out that the jets can be easily switched on and off without needing to fiddle around with the control panel.

Using MSPA’s wired controller, we were able to engage the jets, adjust the heater and switch on an energy-saving timer that helps to keep the MSPA spa’s energy usage and running costs in check.

This handy controller even slots into a storage pocket on the outer wall of the hot tub, which is big enough to store all of your hot tubbing essentials too!

Is This a WI-FI Controlled Hot Tub?

You won’t find any Wi-Fi controls here; in fact, you’d need to look at MSPA’s premium collection for this feature, though we were happy enough using the wired controller to adjust this hot tub’s primary functions.

Does This Model Have Lighting?

The MSPA Alpine Delight hot tub doesn’t feature lighting, though floating lights can be found for as little as £10-£20 each from most inflatable hot tub stockists!

How Many People Can it Accommodate?

Thanks to the Delight Alpine spa’s square inflatable hot tub design, fitting up to 6 adults here can be comfortably achieved, though we think that limiting the capacity to 4 or 5 will be a little more enjoyable!

What About Safety Features?

Alongside the antibacterial lining in the MSPA Delight Alpine’s shell, the brand has included its smart filtration system in this model. This is a great safety feature that automatically filters the hot tub’s water for 1 hour every 8 hours to remove any contaminants that may have built up during your soaks!

There’s also a secure cover fitted with child-safety locks to prevent anybody slipping into the water when you’re not using the spa and a PRCD unit in the power cable that will switch off the system if a fault occurs within the hot tub’s circuitry.

The hot tub’s electrical components, including the pump and the control box, carry a water-resistance rating of IPX5, meaning they’re completely protected against light rain and low-pressure water jets.

Detailed Review

How comfortable is the MSPA Delight Alpine hot tub?

Though the hot tub doesn’t feature any dedicated comfort features, like raised seating or thick padding, we did find this model to be comfortable enough during our daily dips.

The inner lining has a smooth-touch finish that’s soft on the skin, and the auto-inflation feature on the pump is great for ensuring that the shell is always fully inflated and supportive to lean into.

Additional inflatable seating would further improve this hot tub’s comfort factor, but that’s down to you if you want to shell out an extra £10-£20 per 2 seats!

Running costs

With only one level of power for the MSPA Delight Alpine’s massage system, you aren’t offered a great deal of control over your energy usage, though this wasn’t much of a problem during our tests as running this spa for a few hours a day only came to around £7-£10 per week.

The fact that you can engage the energy-saving timer using the wired controller is pretty useful for keeping on top of your running costs. We also found that by storing the hot tub with the lid firmly sealed, we could maintain the water temperature pretty well, reducing our daily heating costs!

Heat up times

The MSPA Delight Alpine doesn’t have the most powerful heater we’ve ever used, but we were reasonably happy with its 11-12 hours initial heat-up time.

Setting this inflatable hot tub up during sunny weather and heating the spa with the cover sealed will help improve this initial heating, but we think this is a reasonable achievement for a hot tub of this size!

Daily heat up times took our team around 2 hours, with the maximum temperature that we were able to reach being about 40 degrees Celsius, which, again, we were pretty happy with for this size of hot tub.

How noisy is the MSPA Alpine Delight model?

With an insulting pump and main control box, the MSPA Delight Alpine is exceptionally quiet. Even with the jets bubbling away, the noise levels were no louder than distant traffic.

Given that the massage system can’t be adjusted in terms of power, we would still advise against running this thing late into the evening. Still, compared to similarly-sized hot tubs from competing brands, we think the Alpine spa is noticeably quieter.

Winter usage

The 6-layer PVC lining that makes up the shell is pretty good at maintaining the hot tub’s heat, especially when stored with the inflatable lid and firmly sealed cover.

This allows the hot tub to run pretty well during the winter, but when the temperature drops below freezing, the spa does begin to struggle.

MSPA has included an anti-icing system in this spa. However, we found that it only manages to maintain the water temperature at around 3 degrees Celsius, so we actually had more success just running the heater at a low temperature to reduce our daily heating times.

This can result in increased running costs, so whilst the Delight Alpine MSPA can certainly function during the winter, we don’t think it excels!

Price and discounts

The MSPA Delight Alpine is amongst the more affordable options from this brand. However, you will find inflatable hot tubs with similar specs from competing manufacturers that are a little cheaper.

We’d like to see a little more control over things like the speed of the air jets and a more powerful anti-icing system for the price that MSPA are asking, but at the same time, the Alpine spa is hardly a rip off!

If you can find this model at a discounted price, we think it’s worth considering, so make sure to check a range of suppliers over a few months to scope out any sales!

Warranty and support

As a Delight Series model, the MSPA portable hot tub qualifies for a 12-month warranty on its electrical components and six months of coverage over the body of the pool itself.

We checked out MSPA’s official website, searching for their customer support options and were pleasantly surprised by an extensive list of how-to videos, manuals and FAQs designed to answer the most common questions about their products.

If these resources don’t quite answer your specific query, there’s also an online contact form that will put you in touch with a member of their support team.

MSPA Delight Alpine Reviews

The reviews of the MSPA Delight Alpine are excellent with many customers stating that the tub inflated within minutes and its very comfortable.

If you’ve been searching for a no-nonsense inflatable hot tub that does the basics well and doesn’t require a degree to operate, we think that the MSPA Delight Alpine can be a great choice.

In terms of MSPA models, this is certainly one of their more affordable options, though there are similar hot tubs out there from other brands that offer more functionality for a comparable price.

All in all, we think most families and first-time buyers will be pleased with this inflatable hot tub, but if you’re searching for a more personalised massage, it might be worth spending a little more elsewhere!

Have a look at these m spa inflatable hot tubs if you have a slightly higher budget and want something a little more luxirous.

How Does It Compare?

The Paris

With a little more floor space, 32 more air jets and its own LED lighting system, it’s quite hard to fight the MSPA Delight Alpine’s corner here.

If you prefer a square-style design and are looking for the quietest hot tub around, you might still prefer MSPA’s model, but this Lay Z Spa really is hard to beat!

Dellonda

You’ll save yourself a couple of quid by opting for the Dellonda, and its rattan printed exterior will definitely make a stylish addition to your garden.

There are also 32 more air jets and a comparable heating system, though you’ll again be missing out on the Delight Alpine MSPA’s square design and whisper-quiet pump.

How to Set Up The MSPA Delight Alpine

Using the auto-inflation system on the pump, we had this hot tub inflated and ready to be filled in under 10 minutes. All it takes is attaching the inflation hose and pressing a single button!

Last Word

The MSPA Delight Alpine is a great first inflatable hot tub; it does all of the basics well and couldn’t be easier to operate.

The durable PVC shell will undoubtedly stand up to regular daily use, and we were pleasantly surprised by this hot tub’s energy efficiency and heat-retaining qualities.

There are a few models that offer a little more in the way of features for a similar price, but we don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you decide to choose the MSPA Delight Alpine.
